Addiction is isolating. It causes most to withdraw & retreat from family, friends, and partners.
Addiction compounds on feelings of shame and guilt, causing one to hide and disconnect further.
Over time, the connection become the bottle or the substance but alcohol and drugs can never recreate or mirror real human connection.
Substances don't give back, they only take.
Seek support, ask for help, call a friend. It's the first step in reconnecting with others, and yourself.
